Why was Tyre Nichols killed? According to a source, Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr., and Justin Smith, the five cops involved, have all been lodged in the Shelby County Jail. The accusations have not yet been made public.

Coming soon are explanations for Tyre Nichols’ passing. The violent body cam video of the 29-year-old Black man’s arrest is reportedly being prepared for release by Memphis Police Department.

Wednesday night, Police Chief Cerelyn Davis provided an update to the public, stating that the video would be shared “in the coming days” and vowing that her department would fully cooperate with the investigation into the terrible tragedy.

In addition, she adds she anticipates protests, but she encourages the locals to keep one another safe while they take place.

As you are aware, Nichols was killed after being arrested on January 7 for reckless driving in Memphis. He is accused of fleeing the scene on foot before being caught by police.

According to Memphis Police Department, Nichols complained of shortness of breath after being placed under custody. An ambulance was then summoned, and Nichols was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where he died three days later.

This week, Nichols’ stepfather made public a graphic photo taken inside the hospital that showed blood on his face and a severely injured eye. His mother also claims that he was attached to a breathing apparatus.

After viewing the body cam tape privately with Nichols’ family and his legal team, attorney Ben Crump described it as “appalling” and “heinous.”

Nichols was described by another lawyer in Crump’s company as “a human piata for those police officers.”

The five cops who assisted in Nichols’ arrest have subsequently been fired by MPD, which claims they broke “several department policies, including excessive use of force, duty to intervene, and duty to offer help.”

According to a statement, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation revealed Nichols had passed away on January 10, three days after the stop, as a result of injuries sustained in the “use-of-force encounter with officers.”
