Over 44,000 Ghana Teachers Failed Lincensure Examinstions

Around 44,000 of the 120,000 teachers in Ghana failed the required Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination, according to the National Teaching Council (GTLE).

The National Teaching Council’s Registrar discussed the unfortunate outcome with the media.

Given the subpar performance of the teachers who were supposed to be teaching the youngsters, Dr. Christian Addai-Poku said that the exam results were concerning.

All holders of the Diploma in Basic Education (DBE), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), and Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) who wish to apply for employment with the Ghana Education Service may take the Teacher Licensure Exams, which were introduced in 2018. (GES).

The test focuses on literacy, numeracy, and basic computation, which are necessary teaching abilities (verbal aptitude and essay).

On each of the three days of the exam, the applicants must submit a paper.
