Wilko Johnson, a “Game of Thrones” actor and British rock guitarist, passed away at the age of 75.

A statement on the multi-talented musician’s social media accounts said that he passed away on Monday, November 21, at his home.

“This is the announcement we never wanted to make, and we do it with a very sorrowful heart: Wilko Johnson has passed away,” the statement reads.

“We appreciate you observing the family’s privacy during this very difficult time. Goodbye, Wilko Johnson.

Johnson was candid about his prior struggle with pancreatic cancer, however the exact reason of his death has not been made public.

Johnson received a pancreatic cancer diagnosis in 2013 and was informed that he had 10 months to live after deciding against doing chemotherapy. He underwent an 11-hour procedure to remove a large tumor, and a year later, doctors proclaimed him to be cancer-free.

As the guitarist for the British band Dr. Feelgood, he is best known.

Although the band’s album “Stupidity” reached the top spot in the UK charts in 1976, Johnson left the group a year later.

In addition to recording his own music, he later joined Ian Drury and the Blockheads and collaborated on an album with Roger Daltrey of The Who in 2014.

Johnson has had a long career in music, but he also made his acting debut in the HBO series “Game of Thrones” as the deaf executioner Per Ilyn Payne in seasons one and two.
