4 teens killed in Buffalo car crash while attempting the viral TikTok ‘Kia challenge’. In an automobile accident in Buffalo, four teenagers—including a young mother—died while undertaking a TikTok challenge.

Six teenagers, between the ages of 14 and 19, were reportedly traveling in a stolen Kia, according to the police. On Monday, October 24, about 6:30 a.m., the fast car crashed and overturned, ejecting five of the passengers.

Three of the passengers were declared dead at the site, and one more was later determined to have passed away. Police reported that the driver, a 16-year-old male, and one of the ejected passengers, a 14-year-old female, both survived.

The 16-year-old driver was taken care of and then released, while the female passenger is doing well at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. The driver is accused of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and third-degree unlawful use of a vehicle. The district attorney’s office said that he might also be charged with further offenses.

Marcus Webster, 19, Swazine Swindle, 17, Kevin Payne, 16, and Ahjanae Harper, 14, have been named as the deceased victims.

According to Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia, the youths got the idea to steal the automobile from a TikTok challenge that encourages people to break into Kia and Hyundai cars with phone chargers.

The so-called “Kia challenge” challenges viewers of TikTok to engage in the illicit behavior by demonstrating how to hotwire the two models of cars using a USB cord and a screwdriver.

Since the initial video was posted during the summer, police agencies all around the nation have noted an upsurge in auto thefts involving Kia and Hyundai models.
