Rosalia Biography

She began her musical education at the Taller de Msics. She completed a six-year curriculum at the institution. She first attended the school in Raval before transferring to the Catalan Superior School of Music.

In addition, she worked on her own time as a soloist at weddings and music venues, earning “a little over 80 euros or in exchange for dinner” in return.

At the age of 15, she submitted an application for the TV show T S Que Vales, but she was not selected. When she was 17 years old, “intense singing practices” led to the damage of one of her vocal cords, necessitating vocal chord surgery and a year of incapacitation.

In 2012, she became a member of the flamenco singing group Kejaleo, which also included Jordi Franco, Roger Blavia, Cristo Fontecilla, Diego Cortés, and Xavi Turull.

They released the album Alaire in 2013. The Blancanieves soundtrack was professionally promoted by Rosala and Juan “Chicuelo” Gómez at the 2013 Panama International Film Festival in Slvia Pérez Cruz’s place, and at the Festival Grec de Barcelona in place of the modern dance piece De Carmen.

She worked with Roco Márquez to showcase her El Nio album, which was produced by Raül Refree, during Primavera Sound.

In 2015, she also worked with the clothing brand Desigual, singing “Last Night Was Eternal” for their commercial jingle. On the charitable album Tres Guitarras Para el Autismo, they featured the song “Un Millón de Veces” that they independently released. At the age of 20, she was a flamenco instructor and vocal coach.

Together with her former partner, the Spanish rapper C. Tangana, Rosala collaborated on the song “Antes de Morirme” in 2016. The song became a sleeper hit when Rosala’s more recent music gained popularity, and it debuted on the Spanish Singles Chart in 2018.
