Rex Omar, the board chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), has explained why he continues to work there despite the abuse.

Rex Omar claims that he serves as a board chairman on a voluntary basis because he is not compensated for his duties. He admitted that he enjoys his job at GHAMRO since it allows him to learn more.

On Kastle FM, he stated, “Working for GHAMRO is not something I am paid for; it is volunteer labor, and I am using the expertise I have independently obtained because no one has ever instructed me to provide such services.

In an interview with Amansan Krakye, he remarked, “I feel that I’m just assisting GHAMRO to be an effective organization to serve the entire country and I’ve been part of this for over 20-something years now.”

People who make fun of me should be aware that not everyone can devote their time to such voluntary activity, but he admitted that he was still participating because he loved his nation.

“When I finish what I’m doing at GHAMRO today, I can find something else to do with my life. In fact, it won’t take anything away from me since I have my life to live, GHAMRO or not,” he continued.

On the Kastle Entertainment Show, he concluded, “… people don’t understand so they just talk anyhow but when I first went to GHAMRO there wasn’t even an administrative office for the group.”
