Kobe Bryant Helicopter Crash Photos Released; According to a court document filed on Tuesday, Vanessa Bryant and her family were given $28.85 million for the images from the 2020 helicopter crash that killed her husband, NBA star Kobe Bryant, their 13-year-old daughter Gianna, and seven other people.
The $15 million that a jury awarded Bryant in August, along with additional funds to settle any potential future claims from her surviving daughters Natalia, 20, Bianka, 6, and Capri, 3, are all included in the settlement with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, according to The New York Times.
Bryant’s attorney Luis Li made the following comment to the newspaper: “Tonight marks the victorious culmination of Mrs. Bryant’s valiant effort to hold accountable those who engaged in this horrific act.”
She battled for her husband, her daughter, and everyone else in the neighborhood whose deceased family members had also been treated with contempt. We are hopeful that this settlement and her triumph at trial will put an end to this practice.

When Bryant and his daughter’s damaged remains were discovered at the crash site, first responders took horrifying pictures of them and shared them with other first responders and law enforcement officials.
The LA County sheriff’s and fire departments’ employees shared the photos the most, and some of their spouses also saw them.
At last year’s trial, a bartender testified that Los Angeles Sheriff’s Officer Joey Cruz showed him images of Bryant’s remains.
Vanessa Bryant claimed during her evidence that she experiences anxiety and panic attacks due to the worry that although her husband and daughter’s remains have not been made public, graphic photographs of them might someday turn up online.

She said, noting that she had not seen the photographs, “I live in fear of seeing on social media and having these images crop up every day.”
Bryant declared, “I never want to see these pictures. I want to recall them just as they were.
In her testimony, Bryant stated that she was horrified to learn that sheriff’s deputies and firefighters had been bragging about the crash site images weeks earlier.
When first responders shared the pictures, Bryant said, “I expected them to have more empathy and respect.” “My daughter and spouse deserved respect.”
The LA County Sheriff’s Department failed to instruct its staff on the protocol for sharing photos of accident scenes, which caused Bryant significant distress, according to the unanimous verdict of the nine-person jury panel.
Before a clerical error caused it to be reduced to $15 million for Bryant, the award had been $16 million.
Also, the jury decided to pay plaintiff Chris Chester, who lost his wife Sarah and daughter Payton in the collision, $15 million.
Bryant stated she intended to send the funds to her husband’s sports organization, the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, after the verdict was announced in August.
