On her Facebook page, The Babydoll Beauty Couture stated that she supports positivity and aids ladies who are handicapped or have poor self-esteem. When Jamie, who was reportedly 800 pounds, sat in her salon chair, the chair snapped.
While she was having her hair done, it happened. She was inspired to launch her own company in 2013. In an interview, Lopez said that the nail salons rejected her because of her weight.

She admitted that she was the 2003 prom queen despite being bullied later in the interview. In 2018, some people came dangerously close to entirely destroying her salon. The gang of people threw objects that shattered the air conditioner in her salon and threw feces at the windows of her saloon.
She received calls threatening her life at this time from unidentified numbers. Later, she developed despair, and at one time in her life, she started to second-guess her choice.
Her salon was featured on the TV program Super Sized Salon, which also detailed her weight loss journey. She claimed that after experiencing prejudice because of her weight, she started her weight loss adventure.
She added, “It makes me very upset to be mistreated because of my size, and not have a place where I can get beautiful. When women walk away from getting services done at my salon, I want them to feel beautiful, confident, and s*xy.”
