He finished high school at the Don Bosco Boarding School in Tehran, an Italian boarding school, before leaving Iran in 1964 to continue his university studies in the United States.
Before migrating to California in 1969, Firouz earned a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University. He spent two years working as an engineer in Santa Barbara before attending the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles to earn a Master of Science degree.

Firouz Michael Naderi, an Iranian scientist, spent more than 30 years at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in a variety of management and technical roles, where he made a substantial contribution to some of the most well-known robotic space missions in the United States. On June 9, 2023, a Friday, he died.
He retired from NASA in 2016, and since then has worked as a business consultant, speaker, and advisor to up-and-coming digital enterprises.
A doctorate in 1972. In 1976, both students majored in electrical engineering. He spent three years in Iran after completing his degree, returning to work at the Iranian Remote Sensing Agency, before departing once more in the wake of the July 1979 Iranian Revolution. He hasn’t returned to Iran since that time.

He started working as a communications systems engineer at NASA JPL in September 1979. He rose through the ranks during his 30-year career.

His responsibilities at JPL included managing programs and projects for planetary systems, astrophysical observatories, Earth remote sensing observatories, and satellite communication systems. He also worked on technology development and systems engineering.
