Following the release of a leaked sex tape video featuring government officials, Daoud Yaya Brahim, the minister of defense for Chad, resigned.
After making several attempts to clear his name and deny appearing in the leaked film, Brahim resigned late on Tuesday night, according to Tchad One, a local media outlet.

It is also said that the former minister tried to address the issue by putting two females in jail.
The report stated, “We demand the immediate release of Shona and Mariam, who have been wrongfully detained in the ANS premises.”

A few hours later, general secretary of the government Haliki Choua Mahamat also submitted his resignation following the social media release of another sex film that purported to show him with a young woman.
Mahamat declared his plan to lodge a complaint with the authorities after becoming enraged “at the exposure of his private life.”
Without providing more information, a brief statement stated, “Prime Minister Saleh Kebzabo accepted the resignations of the government’s general secretary Haliki Choua Mahamat and defense minister Daoud Yaya Brahim.”
According to the French magazine Jeune Afrique, Kebzabo and President Mahamat Idriss Déby had requested the officers’ resignations in order to facilitate the smooth transition of the Chadian government to democratic governance.
