Abigail Elphick Video Update: Victoria Secret Karen Viral Video (Watch Full Video)

There is more to the narrative in the ‘Victoria Secret Karen’ viral video case, according to recent court records. Ijeoma Ukenta, a black lady, was trying to use a voucher for free underwear at a Victoria’s Secret in New Jersey at the time when a woman named “Karen” allegedly attacked her and went into convulsions, screaming and writhing on the ground.

Abigail Elphick, who is now known as “Karen,” is disabled and has a long history of medical and psychological issues, according to court documents from a civil action.

Nearly two years after the initial incident, in July, Ukenta filed a civil lawsuit for negligence against Elphick, Victoria’s Secret, the mall, and its security firm.

According to Elphick’s defense, her mental illness caused the breakdown because she was afraid of losing her job and apartment as a result of the video.

Ukenta said in her lawsuit that despite being aware of the assault, Victoria’s Secret chose to ignore it and, when security did arrive, refused to remove Elphick and provide any assistance or protection.

They treated her with a great deal of contempt and showed no remorse or care for her safety. Plaintiff was the one who was ordered to leave the mall, despite the fact that she was the victim; yet, mall security further humiliated her and disregarded her concerns.

When Ukenta begged Elphick to grant her some space to work under the then-current COVID-19 limits within the Short Hills Mall in Millburn, New Jersey, the viral moment began to take off.

When the white woman slaps Ukenta as they are standing close to the cash registers, she then throws her blouse onto the counter, buries her face in her hands, and escalates the situation quickly.

I swear to God! In the footage, Ukenta is heard speaking while Elphick kneels to the floor.

Do you notice this? Oh my God, girl, I never imagined that I would experience something like this. She merely attempted to hit me while running,’ Ukenta continued.

Elphick cried out: ‘No, I didn’t! I don’t want to be recorded.’

‘You saw that, right? They all saw her, oh my God,’ Ukenta continued.

‘I didn’t try to hit you. I don’t want to be recorded. Stop, stop!’ Elphick said. ‘I didn’t try to hit you!’

After that, Elphick falls to the ground face first while using her purse as a pillow. In the background, store employees are still checking out other customers.

As a store employee assists Ukenta with her goods and bids the white woman good-bye, the film comes to a close.

In a subsequent video, the tumultuous situation can be seen continuing with Elphick convulsing on the ground, pointing a finger at Ukenta, and yelling, “She’s recording me!”

Ukenta responds, “You keep lying and saying I’m threatening you, so I’m recording to protect myself.”

The shouting white woman talks on the phone with someone who sounds like the police at one point, while continuing to insist that Ukenta was “threaten[ing]” her. A woman then makes an attempt to calm Elphick down.

“This is how black people are passing away,” Observe this? What do these individuals do, do you see? When you plainly saw her chasing me around the store, they’re inciting a panic and calling the police,’ Ukenta added.

Ukenta is instructed by that woman to turn off the camera since she is “sick.”

Don’t tell me what to do; she’s lying on the phone. According to her, I threatened her. I couldn’t give a s**t if she were ill. I’m concerned for myself, Ukenta remarked.

In a third video, mall security eventually makes an appearance, and Ukenta tells the ‘oblivious’ mall security employee about the problem.

The police finally made an appearance in the fourth video, assuring Ukenta that they “can’t kick her out” despite Elphick having physically assaulted Ukenta while being filmed.

In her case, Ukenta claimed that she began filming as a kind of self-defense because she was “keenly aware” that if the police were called, they might not trust a Black woman and might mistakenly conclude that she was the perpetrator.

The incidents were documented by Ukenta in a number of videos that quickly gained popularity online. She even shared a video of herself submitting a police report, in which Elphick’s details are revealed.

Elphick’s legal representatives claim that as a result, she has received countless harassing calls and threats against her and her family. She claims that in April, she got phone threats that would kill her.
