Referee Niatire Suntuo Aziz and his assistants Suleman Mohammed and Yakubu Abdul Rahman were att@cked bitterly by the angry fans of the homesters after the final whistle of the fixture. Also, the fourth referee Hasim Yakubu suffered be@tings by the irate fans.

According to reports, fans of the home side beat up the match officials after the game had ended in a 0-0 draw at the Wamanafo Park.
The aggrieved fans of Wamanfo Mighty Royals besieged the main gate to att@ck the referees for what the fans perceived to be unfair officiating against their club.

To say this is barbaric is to understate it. At the Wamanafo Park, referees were beaten mercilessly following a Div 1 league game between Mighty Royals and Tano Bofoakwa.
