Rock n Roll legend, Jerry Lee Lewis has passed away at age 87 today.
Lewis passed away in his Memphis, Tennessee, home on Friday, October 22, according to a statement issued by his publicist.
A teenage Elvis Presley was so scared by Lewis’ combination of blues, gospel, country, honky-tonk, and raw, pounding stage performances that it caused him to cry, according to the statement he wrote: “Lewis, maybe the last true, great icon of the genesis of rock ‘n’ roll, has gone.”
TMZ had previously this week reported on Lewis’ passing. But after hearing from his family and friends that it was untrue, they took the post down.
No specific cause of death has been given as of yet. Additionally, nothing is known regarding his funeral.

As “rock n’ roll’s first great wild guy and one of the 20th century’s most influential pianists,” Jerry Lee Lewis has been referred to. He was referred to as the Killer.
After the publication of his single “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On” in 1957, Lewis became well-known. He then had more big singles like “Great Balls of Fire,” “Breathless,” and “High School Confidential.”
Jerry was admitted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. Additionally, he received a place in the Memphis Music Hall of Fame. He was admitted to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2022.
Jerry’s songs were mostly gold-certified. He also received a number of honors, including two Grammy Hall of Fame Awards and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
