She was a vocalist and songwriter best known for being a founding member of the Pointer Sisters. In the 1970s and 1980s, Anita Pointer and her sisters (the Pointer Sisters) enjoyed commercial success.

The Pointer Sisters made music history in 1974 thanks to Anita’s songwriting skills when their single, “Fairytale,” became a hit on the country music charts and made them the first black female group to appear at the Grand Ole Opry.
